September and October were busy months of a different kind for ERA Products, The Door Lock People, as staff organised and took part in a number of fundraising activities for cancer charities.
At ERA’s head office in Willenhall, ‘Wear it Pink Day’ was celebrated in style on 30th October with pink wigs, ankle warmers and even tutus being worn for the day. And that was only the boys! Product Manager for Doors, Kerry Blackford, dressed up as a big pink woopie cushion in a bid to help raise £131 for cancer charity, Breast Cancer Campaign.
In September, ERA’s team raised £130 as part of the Macmillan ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. Biscuits, cakes and even home made samosas were brought in for everyone to enjoy as part of the fundraising day.
And as well as organising and running their own fund-raising activities, ERA Products also support their customers wherever they can. On 9th September, it was the turn of the Timber & Joinery and Building Teams at Travis Perkins who were taking part in an annual fundraising walk for charities that support the children of people suffering with cancer. A magnificent £5,600 was raised as a result of the event.
It doesn’t stop there. Instead of sending Christmas cards this year, ERA employees will instead donate the money usually spent on cards to local children’s hospice, Acorns. And to help boost funds even further, ERA’s Design Director, Graham Loakes will also be washing cars at £5 for employees, £10 for managers...and a top price of £20 for directors! |
