ERA, ‘The Door Lock People’, have again been supporting Secured by Design Week, the highly respected national security awareness programme, which this year ran from July 10th – 14th. and which featured a number of special events. To mark their commitment to this police-endorsed initiative, ERA have launched two new Secured By Design product ranges this year: the British Standard Nightlatch and the Fortress Mortice Lock. The new British Standard Nightlatch has been designed so that the use of a credit card to force entry is now virtually impossible. With the Fortress, protection comes from hardened steel plates that resist drilling and four hardened steel rollers in the deadbolt that are a solid defence against hacksawing. Added security comes from a longer, 20mm bolt throw, one of the changes brought in by the new British Standard.
