ERA HAVE THE KEY TO AN AGE OLD PROBLEM

ERA, The Door Lock People, have addressed the difficult challenge of how to limit entry from unwanted visitors but still allow third party access in the event of an emergency.

The new Door Restrictor with Key Access for use with ERA’s Multi Point Lock range is an important addition to ERA’s impressive range of Access Control products.

It does the same job as a door chain, but the difference is that if the occupant has left the Door Restrictor on, it can be unlocked from outside in an emergency. At the moment, the Door Restrictor is only for use with composite doors but a retrofit version for timber doors is under development.

The Door Restrictor’s rim cylinder is keyed alike with the euro cylinder on the door lock, meaning they both use the same key. This is particularly important for warden-controlled properties. Indeed, the product has been designed with the Disability Discrimination Act very much in mind, as it’s ideally suited to the elderly or disabled.

Another feature of the product is that you can clearly see if the restrictor is “on” or “off” from the inside of the property, with a simple colour coded plate built in to the knob of the Door Restrictor. It has an easy-grip internal handle and can be used with both 35mm and 45mm backset multi point locks.
