Last year, ERA Products were first to market with a cylinder-free multi point lock, and they’re back again with another industry-leading innovation.

Launched at the start of 2008, Vectis introduced the unique combination of modern multi point locking with traditional key entry to provide a 5-lever locking solution suitable for today’s growing PVCu and composite door market. The absence of a euro profile cylinder in the lock helped to address the industry issue of bumping, snapping and plug extraction and offered a time saving solution for fabricators and installers.

The evolution of Vectis, known as Vectis Plus, provides the same high security benefits associated with the cylinder-free lock, but with the addition of extra reinforcement in the form of hardened steel plates to provide enhanced strength against attack.

ERA Products are the first lock manufacturer in the UK to introduce hardened steel plates to the outer casing of a multi point lock.

The catalyst for the launch of Vectis Plus is the anticipated change in requirements being introduced by the British Standards Institute, which is endorsed by Secured By Design, later this year. Utilising ERA’s in house UKAS test facility, the Vectis Plus can be fully tested as part of a door system inline with these pending standards.

As with Vectis, the enhanced Vectis Plus gearbox is compatible for use with a wide range of multi point lock systems and is available in three Backset options; 35mm Backset with centre hook and deadbolt option, a keyed alike 35mm Slave unit and 45mm Backset with deadbolt option only.

A comprehensive range of complementary door furniture in a choice of finishes is also available together with a unique ‘universal’ adaptor, which converts existing euro profile backplate slots into a traditional ‘key hole’.

ERA’s recently launched 44mm Aluminium Trim lock already has the benefits associated with Vectis Plus. This decorative aluminium trim is ideal for finishing off cut down composite doors and is available in either white or brown finish, with matching hinge trim available.
