EN 1627-30 encompasses the security testing
requirements for windows, shutters and doors from low risk residential
to high risk commercial properties and covers six grades of burglar
resistance.
Much of the
controversy surrounding these documents relate to concerns over
maintaining the repeatability of the manual intervention tests between
laboratories, and the lack of specific attack on lock cylinders, a known
potential weakness.
There is
also, still a lack of clarity with regard to the long term future of PAS
24, though, as with the introduction of all new standards, there will
be a period of co-existence for both PAS 24 and BS 7950.
For
some time, grouphomesafe has been developing it's products with a
focus on both current and future requirements, and all new introductions
are designed to meet the appropriate mechanical loads required for
compliance with UK and European standards.
We

1627-30, and the co-existence of current UK standards through our news
