ERA Products are at the technological forefront of household and commercial security product design and manufacture. Situated on a one and a half acre site in Willenhall, West Midlands, the company has been manufacturing and supplying quality security products for over 150 years. Their location, close to all major lines of distribution, ensures the requirements of customers anywhere in the UK, as well as overseas, can be met with speed and efficiency. The ERA product range includes quality locks and accessories that cover all areas of housing, including: doors, windows, patio doors, garages and child safety. In addition to updating existing products either to meet new standards or simply to offer more options, ERA are rightly proud of their track record in bringing new products to market, the latest of which is the Secured by Design accredited new Fortress Lock Range. The new High Security Fortress Lock range is the very latest mortice lock from the UK’s leading mortice lock manufacturer. On top of the Secured by Design accreditation, the new High Security Fortress Lock Range complies with the European Standard BS EN 12209 requirement and meets the new BS3621:2004, ensuring recommendations from insurance companies and the police. There are three locks in the range, the High Security Fortress 5 Lever Lock which is available now, and soon to follow, the High Security Fortress Euro Cylinder Lock and the High Security Fortress Oval Cylinder Lock. All are available in sashlock and deadlock, 64mm or 76mm and in brass, satin or chrome effect finishes. Plus each lock has hardened steel plates that resist drilling and four hardened steel rollers in the deadbolt that will resist hacksawing. Each lock has a 20mm bolt throw for added security, increased from the 14mm requirement of BS3621:1998. The latch bolt has a reversible pull and twist action, making the lock suitable for left or right-handed doors, as the hand of the lock can easily be reversed without the removal of lock cover or screws. The range is also designed to suit both sprung and un-sprung furniture. The Fortress rebates come in two sizes: 12.7mm and 25.4mm and are finished in brass, satin or chrome effect to match the forends. For greater ease of use, locksmith kits are available and they all come complete with full fitting instructions. The Fortress Lock Range joins ERA’s Access Control electronic locking system as a Secured By Design accredited product. The Access Control systems, which were featured in the last issue of Secured By Design magazine, continue to attract specifier’s attention for their versatility. A series of exhibitions at different locations up and down the country have produced enormous interest in the system with its offering of various electronic trigger options to unlock the door, namely the key fob, the audio telephone system and the audio-visual telephone system. Interest for ERA’s Access Control has been particularly strong in the public sector - it’s easy to use and available for front doors and main entry/exit doors. The Secured By Design accreditation ensures the promise of a high security lock offering outstanding protection. |
