Double Locking Nightlatch
The ERA Double Locking Nightlatch is available in both 40mm and 60mm backset, designed to replace most existing front door locks. The product is ideally suited for solid and glass panelled wooden doors, as it has been designed with an ergonomic internal locking handle offering added security against forced entry.
The main lock bolt is “automatically” deadlocked when the door is closed, preventing the main bolt being retracted by a credit card. The inside handle can be deadlocked by an anti-clockwise turn of the key from the inside so securing the lock against forced entry. The bolt can be held in the withdrawn position (only) with the use of the snib feature.

Product Codes
40mm - 183 & 184
60mm - 193 & 194

Finishes Available

Replacement Front Door Lock
The new Replacement Front Door Lock provides a dual-purpose, no-nonsense and user-friendly product - all in one unit.
The new lock’s external cylinder offers the option of a deadlocking or non-deadlocking unit giving customers even greater choice than before. The thoughtful new design now has the button for setting the latch on the body of the lock, rather then the handle, which all but eliminates the chance of accidental operation.
With the design incorporating a larger footprint, fitting the new Replacement Front Door Lock means that most existing marks from previous locks will be hidden from view, minimising the need for redecoration and ‘making good’ work.

60mm - 1630

• It’s a good idea to ensure your nightlatch has a deadlocking facility. Adding extra security, giving the key an extra turn will deadlock the nightlatch so it can only be opened with a key from the outside but not from the inside – foiling the thief who has smashed door glass to reach in.

• Use nightlatches as an additional rather than sole means of security. As it is screwed to the door, it may still be possible for burglars to kick the door in or trip the lock tongue with a thin piece of plastic.

• If you have a panelled door, make sure to measure the width available for the nightlatch, and select either the 40mm or 60mm backset..

• If you don’t know the caller, keep the door chain or Securichain on. This will enable you to speak to strangers at the door without letting them in.

• Try and make it routine to put the chain or door restrictor on every time you open the door.
